Whelan thrilled after Leeds sign 'the next Bellingham'
Noel Whelan has claimed Leeds United have completed an exciting signing in forward Amari Miller.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Whites and Coventry striker is excited by the prospect of the 18-year-old moving to Elland Road given that he has “bags of potential”.
This site first broke the news that Leeds were in talks to sign Miller and revealed on 26th June that a deal with Birmingham City was all but done barring the final paperwork.
The Midlands club accepted Leeds’ offer of an initial £200,000 rising to £1.5million with performance-related add-ons.
Miller is highly thought of at Birmingham and was one of five second-year scholars to be offered professional terms before Leeds swooped.
Whelan expects Miller to be part of the Under-23s next season.

“He is going to be an exciting signing because he has bags of potential,” Whelan told Football Insider
“He has made his debut at a very young age which is a promising sign. Hopefully for Leeds he can be the next Bellingham.
“The way I have seen things materialise with Joe Gelhardt, I think Miller will go into the Under-23s next season.
“Bielsa needs a different calibre of player in the first team. He needs senior players who will make an impact straight away.
“That is why I think he will be in the Under-23s for a season or two and then coming into the first team. He would have to be a phenomenon to come straight into the first team.”
