Wolverhampton Wanderers supporters have urged the club to keep hold of Fer Lopez ahead of the 2026-27 campaign after his goalscoring performance in the 2-0 victory over Doncaster Rovers.

The 22-year-old winger netted the opener in the Old Gold’s penultimate friendly match in what was an all-around excellent display.

Lopez has been heavily linked with an exit this summer, with Celta Vigo reportedly keen on securing a loan move.

Wolves had originally signed the Spain Under-21 international from Celta Vigo last summer for £19.5million.

However, after struggling in the Premier League, he was sent back to Spanish club on loan for the second half of the 2025-26 campaign, where he regained his form.

Now, after impressing against Doncaster, the Molineux faithful have urged the club to resist bids from Celta Vigo for Lopez this summer.

Wolves fans believe that Fer Lopez will stun the Championship

When Lopez first arrived at Wolves last summer, he was hyped as their marquee signing.

However, it quickly became clear that he was not up to standard in the Premier League, with the youngster being far too raw.

Nevertheless, after regaining his form in La Liga, he showed supporters just how much of an asset he can be this season as he ran the show against Doncaster after coming on at half-time.

Therefore, many fans quickly ran to X to beg Wolves not to rid themselves of Lopez this summer, believing he will be a massive hit in the Championship this season.

Can Lopez finally solve Wolves’ creative issues?

One of Wolves’ biggest problems last season was their lack of a creative spark.

Goals were hard to come by at Molineux, and much of this was down to the fact that no one could consistently play the killer pass to break defences down.

However, there will be a hope that Lopez can finally solve this issue this season.

The attacking midfielder is clearly dangerous in the final third, and is more than capable of playing some excellent balls into the box.

However, it remains to be seen if Lopez can continue this form going into the 2026-27 campaign if he does remain at the Old Gold side this summer.
