Santiago Bueno could still leave Wolverhampton Wanderers this summer despite the English transfer window closing on Wednesday.

Reports have emerged on Wednesday that there is still a chance that a centre-back will leave the club over the coming weeks.

Originally, it was thought that Ladislav Krejci would be on his way out of the Old Gold club after not featuring in any of Wolves’ last five matches.

However, it is now believed that Santiago Bueno is the more likely of the two to make an out-of-window exit.

The 27-year-old has been linked to a host of clubs this summer after winning Wolves’ Player of the Season award in the last campaign.

So far this season, Bueno is yet to play a single minute, despite the club’s defence looking extremely shaky.

Despite many fans wanting to see Bueno in action this season, a departure from Molineux does make sense.

Wolves are currently bloated with centre-backs, with Toti Gomes, Yerson Mosquera, Nasser Djiga, Krecji and youngster Saheed Olagunju all fighting alongside Bueno for the two starting spots in the team.

Therefore, an exit for Bueno may make sense if an offer is presented.

Numerous big leagues still have their transfer window open, including the Saudi Pro League, Liga Portugal and the Super Lig.
