Wolverhampton Wanderers fans have made it clear that they want Boubacar Traore to stay at the club past the summer transfer window.

The midfielder has been heavily linked with an exit this summer, and reports emerged on Thursday that Anderlecht have seen a £2.6million bid rejected for the 25-year-old.

Traore had been out of the first-team picture at Wolves and was sent out on loan to Metz for the entire 2025-26 campaign.

However, despite not featuring in any of the Old Gold’s opening two matches of the 2026-27 season, Cesar Peixoto has since given him a shot.

The Mali international had a late cameo in the 3-1 victory against Preston North End and started in the 2-0 Carabao Cup win against Sheffield Wednesday on Tuesday.

As a result, Wolves fans believe that Traore still has a part to play this season and the club should look to keep hold of him.

Wolves fans want Boubacar Traore to stay this summer

Since initially joining Wolves on loan back in 2022, Traore has rarely had a bad game at the club.

While his importance to the team diminished in his last two campaigns, there is still clearly a good player there.

His defensive awareness is a clear bonus, and Traore could prove to be a vital option off the bench when Wolves are trying to hang on to a lead late on.

The fans recognise this, and after Flavien Tresarrieu reported on Anderlecht’s rejected bid on Thursday, many flocked to X to demand that Traore stays at Molineux.

What sales could Wolves make before the transfer window closes?

While Wolves fans want to keep hold of Traore, there are plenty of other players that could soon leave the club this summer.

Hwang Hee-Chan is heavily linked with an exit, and he is yet to feature for the club this campaign.

Alongside the South Korea international, Sasa Kalajdzic could also make an exit over the next week after struggling to pick up minutes at the Old Gold side since joining the club in 2022.

Nevertheless, it remains to be seen what business Wolves complete between now and 1 September, with the transfer deadline day closing in fast.
