'Worth £35m or more' - Tottenham fans react as attacker scores on international duty

By Will Butcher

Moussa Sissoko got his name on the score sheet for France as Didier Deschamps’ side smashed Paraguay 5-0 on Friday – and Tottenham fans are hoping it will attract clubs on Twitter.

The 27-year-old found the back of the net after Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette was played through on goal and squared the ball unselfishly to the Tottenham ace.

Deschamps watched from the dugout as his side ran riot against their South American opponents, with Antoine Griezmann and an Olivier Giroud hat-trick rounding off the result.

Sissoko has struggled at Spurs this season following his £30million move Newcastle last summer, starting just 12 of his 34 league and cup encounters during the 2016-17 campaign.

Tottenham fans reacted on Twitter to the news by hoping that the goal had bumped up Sissoko’s price, rather than applauding the former Toulouse man for scoring.

Here is a selection of their messages on Twitter:

Sissoko, who earned his 51st cap for France and scored just his second goal for his country, was part of the France side that reached the Euro 2016 final but lost 1-0 to Portugal.

A move this summer seems likely for the powerful winger, despite having four years remaining on his current deal with the north London giants.

In other Tottenham news, Tony Adams has revealed that he recommended this Spurs star to Arsenal.
