Darren Bent has been left in awe of Everton and manager Carlo Ancelotti as they reportedly line up a move for Real Madrid superstar Isco.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider assistant editor Russell Edge, the former Spurs and England striker claimed the Spain international would seriously consider a move to Merseyside because of Ancelotti’s pedigree.
The Mirror report Madrid are keen to loan out the four-times Champions League winner in January with Isco keen on a reunion with his former boss at Goodison Park.
Isco has started just three games for Real Madrid this season and has fallen down the pecking order under Zinedine Zidane.
However, Bent believes he’s still got more than enough quality to fit in at Everton.
He told Football Insider: “Wow. When we talk about Isco, we now good he can be, bloody hell.
“That character there, he is a good player, Isco.
“If they can get him, wow, what a signing that would be from Ancelloti.
“This is the thing, when you have a manager like Ancelotti, who is a top, top manager, by the way, you’re going to be able to attract these players.
“It’s a little bit of a difficult conversation having it with a manager who does not have the same kind of reputation.
“Someone like Ancelotti who has won the Champions League as a player, and as a manager already, has won the Premier League, has won big trophies, when you talk to a manager like that you think ‘Ok, I’m going to take this conversation a little bit more seriously’.”
Isco, who has played 38 times for Spain, played a key role for Ancelotti’s Real Madrid side.
He featured in the 2014 Champions League final for Los Blancos, the first of four times Isco has won the competition.
In other Everton news, a top pundit has been left in awe of one rarely-seen player who reminds him of Bernardo Silva.
