Yerry Mina: Pundit issues 'huge' Everton injury claim after update on two 'brilliant' players

Yerry Mina and Vitalii Mykolenko would be “huge misses” for Everton if ruled out injured, according to Paul Robinson.

The former Spurs and England number one, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, heaped praise on the “brilliant” duo who have been “outstanding” for Frank Lampard’s side in recent weeks.

Mina and Mykolenko were both forced off during Everton’s 2-1 win over Leicester City on Sunday.

Speaking to club media (8 May), Toffees boss Lampard revealed Mina has a calf injury although the extent of the problem is not yet known.

Mykolenko’s problem is thought to be less serious with Lampard hoping it was just a case of “cramp.”

When asked by Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs if the duo’s absence could derail Everton’s survival bid, Robinson said: “Those two have been brilliant recently.

“They really have been outstanding.

“I don’t think their injuries will matter though. I think Everton are safe. The last two wins have done wonders for them.

“I truly believe it’s between Burnley and Leeds now. Everton have momentum after those two performances. They will take care of themselves now.

“Mina and Mykolenko will be huge misses but I think they’ve done enough. I’m sure they’ll be safe come the end of the season.”

The Blues lifted themselves out of the relegation zone with their win at the King Power Stadium.

Lampard’s side are one point clear of Burnley and Leeds United with a game in hand over both.
