Young-Coombes joining Brentford from Rangers this week and teen teammate could follow

Ciaran Dickson could become the second Rangers starlet to quit and join a Premier League club this week, Football Insider understands.

Nathan Young-Coombes, 18, will complete a move to Brentford this week after agreeing the terms of a three-year contract with the option of another year.

Ibrox sources have told Football Insider that Dickson, 19, may also be in line for a move south of the border following a surprise twist.

The Scottish midfielder signed a new two-and-a-half year contract in January running until the summer of 2023.

But he was on a list of Academy players released by Rangers this summer after a reported fall-out with the club’s management.

Dickson has been linked with Burnley and sources say there is interest in him from another Premier League club.

A move to England could materialise for him in the coming days as his Ibrox career comes to an end.

Young-Coombes decided back in February he would head to England during the current window.

Football Insider exclusively revealed on on 4th February that the teenager was in advanced talks to join Brentford.

The Premier League new boys subsequently announced on 9 June that the deal was done and Young-Coombes would arrive on 1 July.

There is a new premium on UK talent this summer as elite clubs are forced to look closer to home for top young players.

New Brexit rules mean it is far more difficult to lure youngsters from Europe unless they are already in their international set-up.

In other news, a top pundit claims international midfielder “will be wearing a Rangers shirt next season” in big transfer verdict.
