’10 soldiers’ – Moussa Dembele sends message to Celtic fans after win v Rangers
Celtic striker Moussa Dembele has paid a lyrical tribute to his team-mates on Twitter after the Hoops managed to overcome the sending-off of Jozo Simunovic to defeat Rangers 3-2 at Ibrox.
Dembele, who scored a pivotal equaliser to make it 2-2 on the stroke of half-time, took to his personal Twitter account after the match to salute the ten men who won the match.
“Pressure, tension, fight… love these big games, the dembelition was unleashed today! They played with 11 man but we were 10 SOLDIERS with the appetite of Lions and a green and white army behind! Enjoy Bhoys & Ghirls, this is how it feels to be Celtic” was the Hoops striker’s statement after the game.
Dembele has been on his best run of form in some time for the Hoops, with his goal in the Old Firm derby his fourth in the last three games.
He will be a vital figure for the rest of the season as the Hoops aim to complete their second consecutive domestic treble.
Football Insider verdict
Dembele’s lyrical comments aside, the Hoops should be proud of their win today, and Dembele played a big part in that. His goal on the stroke of half-time changed the game, and gave the Bhoys the confidence to go for the win in the second-half even when they reduced to ten men. Dembele’s recent good form has coincided with the Bhoys going on a winning run, and he will be a key player for the rest of the season, he may even form a strike partnership with Odsonne Edouard, the match-winner against Rangers, who looks to be a player with a very bright future, which will hopefully be in Glasgow.
