‘We’ve done a Chelsea’ – Tottenham fans slam boss on Twitter following midfielder move

By Abigail Withey

Tottenham fans have expressed their frustrations with manager Mauricio Pochettino on social media after the club announced that Josh Onomah would be heading off to Aston Villa on a season-long loan.

Spurs confirmed that the 20-year-old midfielder had signed a new four-year-deal with the club and would be moving to Villa Park on a loan spell.

The north London club announced the news on their official Twitter account on Friday.

A majority of Tottenham fans were incredibly frustrated with the news and one supporter stated that by signing and then loaning out a player they had “just done a Chelsea’.

The supporters’ annoyance at the lack of signings is understandable as Pochettino is yet to secure a  new recruit with the season started in just over a week.

So far Spurs have seen four players make a permanent departure from the club including Kyle Walker, Nail Bentaleb, Clinton N’Jie and Federico Fazio while Onomah strays for just a season.

Tottenham face Newcastle away at St. James’ Park as their Premier League opener next weekend.
