Get him out my club – Celtic fans rage at Rodgers decision to start mainstay v Partick

Celtic fans have taken to social media to rage after Craig Gordon was named to start against Partick Thistle on Wednesday night.

Gordon has kept his place in goal following a poor performance in the 4-0 defeat to Hearts on Sunday, leading the Bhoys fans to take to Twitter to blast Brendan Rodgers foe his decision to start the Scotland international.

The goalkeeper – who has been a mainstay between the sticks this term – was blamed for at least two of the goals at Tynecastle as the Celts’ unbeaten run ended at 69 games, and has been under-fire recently after a series of indifferent performances.

The team was recently announced on the Bhoys’ official twitter account.

One fan is so unimpressed that he has said that Gordon needs to “get out” of his club.

Here are some of the best reactions from Twitter to Gordon retaining his place in the side:

Brendan Rodgers has made some changes to his starting line-up, with Odsonne Edouard, Stuart Armstrong and Kristoffer Ajer all starting against the bottom of the table Jags.

There is no place in the squad for Moussa Demeble, who is on the bench alongside Leigh Griffiths.

The Hoops go into the game only two points clear of closest challengers Aberdeen at the top of the Scottish Premiership table, but can increase their lead to five with a win over Partick.

The Bhoys and Aberdeen are set to face-off on Saturday at Celtic Park in a game which could have huge implications at the top of the Scottish Premiership.

In other Celtic news, Marvin Commper has completed his transfer to the Hoops.
