Celtic reportedly willing to offload star, 20-year-old is perfect replacement
COMMENT
Odsonne Edouard is currently at Celtic on loan, but the 20-year-old could well be the replacement for Moussa Dembele should the Frenchman depart Celtic Park in the summer.
Dembele’s future with the Hoops has been called into question once again, as the Daily Record have reported that the Hoops are preparing to offload the French star in the summer.
Naturally if Dembele leaves, Brendan Rodgers will be looking for a replacement striker, and he may have one currently at the club.
Edouard, 20, has came into his own for the Hoops in the last few months, his winning goal at Ibrox undeniably a highlight of the nine goals he has scored so far this season.
He is able to work well in both a striking partnership and as a solo striker, which could be key for the Hoops in their Champions League qualifiers.
Rodgers must trust Edouard as a player, as at times this season he has chosen the PSG striker as his first choice attacker, even when both Dembele and Leigh Griffiths are available.
The Hoops have an option to make Edouard’s transfer permanent at the end of the season, and if he continues in a similar vein of form that he has shown in the last month, then the Hoops would be smart in getting the player tied down to a permanent contract.
