22-year-old reportedly given lifeline: Three Tottenham flops that cannot be afforded same luxury
Onomah – loan or permanent deal?
It is clear that it just has not worked for Onomah of late, despite being given plenty of opportunities to impress by Pochettino.
The 20-year-old attacker was given 10 appearances this season, nine less outings than 2015-16 and with his career in a standstill, he must be sold to save what potential he has left.
But Spurs must make a decision on whether axing him from Pochettino’s first-team squad should be a permanent move, or whether a loan can convince Spurs’ hierarchy that he needs to be kept.
Sending him on loan to a Championship side would give the England Under-20 international the chance to reignite his promise and return to Spurs a better player.
