25-year-old axed: Celtic best possible XI to face Dundee
COMMENT By Dominic Toner
Celtic should make one change to their starting line-up for Sunday’s Scottish Premiership match against Dundee.
The Bhoys travel to Dundee at the weekend and could potentially clinch the league title, depending on results elsewhere.
Brendan Rodgers should make one alteration from the side that drew 1-1 at home to rivals Rangers in their last match.
Patrick Roberts should be restored to the starting XI at the expense of James Forrest.
Forrest, 25, has been an important member of the squad this season and contributed with an assist against Rangers.
There is not much to choose between Forest and Roberts in the battle for the right winger position, but the latter should be handed a start after recovering from a recent knee injury.
Rodgers’ side will need the pace and trickery to breakdown Dundee’s defence and Forrest should just miss out, but could be a strong option off the bench.
Craig Gordon should continue in goal and he has been a vital player this season, proving his worth with a number of good saves against Rangers.
However, he should be a lot less quieter against Dundee and Rodgers should stick to the same defence that has started together in the last three consecutive games across all competitions.
Kieran Tierney and Mikael Lustig should play in the full-back positions, meaning Emilio Izaguirre and Cristian Gamboa miss out.
Dedryck Boyata and Erik Sviatchenko should be partnered together at centre-back, with the former establishing himself as a regular starter recently at the expense of Jozo Simunovic.
