With Moussa Dembele sidelined through a muscle injury and Leigh Griffiths seeing out a one-match ban after provoking fans at Linfield, Scott Sinclair was tasked with leading the Hoops into attack.
However, the former Manchester City ace struggled against Rosenborg, missing the natural striker instinct that the likes of Dembele and Griffiths have.
His lack of presence in the opposition box was obvious with crosses drifting over him, while failing to play on the last man gave Celtic no vocal point. Griffiths will return next week, much to Celtic’s relief.
