28-year-old ‘will never play for Arsenal again’ – fans explode at confirmed news

Arsenal fans reacted in unison in their calls for Oleksandr Zinchenko to leave the club following the latest announcement regarding his off-the-field activities.

The Ukrainian international endured a tough campaign in North London last season, having fallen behind youngster Myles Lewis-Skelly and Riccardo Calafiori in Mikel Arteta’s plans.

Zinchenko, 28, managed just five league starts in 2024/25, making 23 appearances in all competitions, which is a drop in involvement that only added to speculation over his future.

Football Insider previously reported that Arsenal are open to selling Zinchenko this summer, with Borussia Dortmund among the clubs to have shown interest.

With only a year left on his current contract and the transfer deadline less than three weeks away, no formal bids have yet been lodged for his signature.

Now, however, some supporters have voiced their frustration after Zinchenko’s latest off-the-pitch comments came to light, further fuelling debate over whether his time at the Emirates should come to an end.

Oleksandr Zinchenko to release autobiography after ‘worst season’ at Arsenal

The Athletic revealed that Zinchenko is set to release his own auto-biography named ‘Believe’ where he addresses his experiences over the last few seasons.

In the book, the Arsenal full-back candidly recalls the struggles of last term, describing it as “easily the worst season I ever experienced as a professional.”

He adds: “Imagine this little boy who’s dedicated his entire existence to becoming good at one particular thing and then finds at 28 that he’s essentially no longer needed.”

While the Ukrainian’s game time has dwindled, 18-year-old Lewis-Skelly has continued to impress in prominence at the Emirates, recently earning a nomination for the Kopa Trophy.

Meanwhile, AC Milan are the latest club to be linked with a move for Zinchenko — but whether a suitable offer arrives before the transfer deadline remains to be seen.
