£320m Tottenham deal tipped to reach ‘another level’ after Harry Kane twist – expert

The partnership between Tottenham and AIA is ready to reach “another level” after the insurance company’s latest move to make Harry Kane a brand ambassador.

That is the view of finance expert Dr Dan Plumley, who spoke exclusively to Football Insider about the budding relationship between Spurs and their front-of-shirt sponsor.

Hong Kong-based insurance company AIA announced last Friday (6 January) that Tottenham and England striker Kane was to become a brand ambassador.

Kane will join teammate Son Heung-Min, who is already an ambassador for AIA Korea.

Spurs have been partnered with AIA since 2013 and have had them as a front-of-shirt sponsor since the 2014/15 season.

Tottenham announced a £320million eight-year extension to their contract in 2019, earning the club £40million per season.

Plumley believes Kane joining AIA is the latest sign of the healthy relationship between the two parties.

It’s a really good sign for both parties.,” Plumley told Football Insider’s Adam Williams.

It shows that AIA are happy with the relationship with Spurs and want to push that to another level.

Kane and Son are Tottenham’s two biggest players, and it’s great for Spurs that their stars are able to solidify that partnership by being an ambassador for the brand.

For everyone involved it’s a sign that the deal is going according to plan.

They’ve been partners now for nearly a decade which again suggests the relationship is very strong.
