O’Hara had a decent loan spell at Molineux but spending £5million on signing him was one of McCarthy’s worst mistakes and ultimately led to their relegation from the Premier League in 2012.
He may be remembered for a goal against West Brom, but he is also fondly remembered on the other side of the Black Country divide for his shambolic performance in the Baggies’ 5-1 win at Molineux that led to McCarthy being sacked and set Wolves on their way to back-to-back relegations.
The £5million fee spent on O’Hara puts him high in this list.
