£10m duo dominate list of five worst Wolves signings in the 21st century
1. Roger Johnson
Signed from: Birmingham – Fee (approx): £5million – Appearances: 72
There used to be a way to 100 per cent guarantee that your club would get relegated – and that was to sign Johnson.
Wolves decided to spend £5million to make that happen and they pretty much deserved to go down in back-to-back seasons for thinking that was anything near a good idea.
Now at non-league Woking, Johnson was abysmal for Wolves after being handed the captain’s armband the season directly after being relegated with Birmingham.
It will probably go down as the worst buy that the club has ever made and is absolutely adored by West Brom and Aston Villa fans for his mischief caused at St Andrew’s and Molineux.
In other Wolves news, these title holders have confirmed that they want to sign this Molineux attacker.
