Bayern Munich to offer Kyle Walker longer deal than Man City – sources

Bayern Munich are very keen on signing Man City defender Kyle Walker this summer, sources have told Football Insider.

A well-placed source has revealed that Bayern boss Thomas Tuchel is a “huge fan” of the 33-year-old.

It is believed the Bundesliga champions are hoping to tempt Walker by handing him a longer contract than is currently being offered to him by Man City as they attempt to renew his deal.

The England international, who was instrumental in the Citizens’ treble success this term, is currently out of contract in June 2024.

It is believed Bayern are ready to swoop to bring Walker to Germany if Benjamin Pavard is to move on in this summer window.

The World Cup winner wants to leave the Allianz Arena and has been extensively linked with Premier League clubs.

Meanwhile, Walker made 39 appearances across all competitions for Man City in a historic 2022-23 campaign.

He played a key role in nullifying Real Madrid’s threat across both legs of the Champions League semi-final – but was unexpectedly dropped for the final against Inter Milan earlier this month.

Walker, who earns a reported £160,000-a-week, has now won five Premier League titles, two FA Cups, four League Cups and one Champions League with Man City.

He has been at the club since joining from Tottenham in 2017.

The right-back could become the latest treble-winner to depart – with Ilkay Gundogan already sealing a move to Barcelona following the expiry of his contract.

Meanwhile, midfield maestro Bernardo Silva has been linked with a mega-money move to Saudi side Al-Hilal.
