‘A move to a Premier League club is possible’ – Jude Bellingham verdict as Liverpool whispers resurface

Jude Bellingham’s future at Real Madrid has come into question in recent weeks as a result of his lack of game time under Xabi Alonso.

The 22-year-old has already made over 100 appearances for Los Blancos, scored 38 goals and provided 28 assists, and has lifted the Champions League.

However, since his return from a shoulder injury on which he underwent surgery, Bellingham has started just one of his four league appearances.

Some in Spain have hinted he might be struggling to adapt to the new style of play under Xabi Alonso, despite having thrived in Carlo Ancelotti‘s side.

As a result, Football Insider revealed Bellingham could quit Real Madrid with a number of Premier League clubs believed to be keeping tabs on his situation.

Jude Bellingham’s response to Premier League interest

Bellingham was left out of Thomas Tuchel’s England squad as a result of his lack of recent involvement for Madrid, with concerns now growing about his situation.

However, the midfielder remains determined to stay in Madrid and fight for his place both domestically and at international level and is not thinking about leaving.

That is according to former Man United and Sunderland chief scout Mick Brown, who remains very well-connected within the game, as he exclusively told Football Insider that he would be surprised if a move happened in the near future.

A move to the Premier League will always be a possibility for him,” he told Football Insider.

“But Bellingham is focused on getting back to playing regularly and playing well for Real Madrid.

“This injury has been a bit of a setback for him and so he’s not been thrown straight back into the squad, whether that’s due to fitness or something else.

“There have been suggestions he’s not managed to click with the style of play, but he’s a very talented player so I’m sure that won’t take him long.

“I expect his full focus will be on playing well for Madrid, and I’d be surprised if he was entertaining any suggestions of a move away at the moment.

“But in my experience, there’s a very fine line between a player playing at the top of his game, and something that can make a difference and flip things around.

“I’m not saying he’s all of a sudden going to drop off, but if he’s not starting regularly for Real Madrid and now he’s left out of the England squad, it might have an impact.

“By all accounts, he’s got an excellent mentality and it’s the type of thing which should inspire him to up his game rather than knocking him down.

“But it will be interesting to see how he reacts to what’s happened after the break.”

Liverpool have been long-term admirers of Bellingham, having attempted to sign him in 2023, while all of England’s top clubs are believed to be keeping tabs on his situation.

Thomas Tuchel questioned for Bellingham treatment

Thomas Tuchel was slammed for leaving Bellingham out of his most recent England squad, with the likes of Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Jordan Henderson in his place.

Brown told Football Insider on 6 October that Tuchel would speak to Bellingham about his role in the squad and resolve any ongoing issues between them.

Suggestions of issues behind the scenes were dismissed by the manager, who confirmed that the Real Madrid star was left out due to concerns about his fitness.

With his Real Madrid playing time seemingly having a direct impact on his international status, it will only add fuel to suggestions he could look to move on.

A summer transfer is still considered highly unlikely, but not impossible if he continues to be sidelined rather than a regular starter under Alonso.
