‘He has everything’, ‘Brilliant’ – Rodgers raves about Celtic player after winning title

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has heaped praise on Hoops striker Odsonne Edouard, after the on-loan striker tore Rangers apart in the Bhoys’ 5-0 victory over Rangers.

The 20-year-old, who took the place of injured frontman Moussa Dembele, scored the Hoops’ first two goals and was a constant thorn in the Gers side, as the Bhoys cruised to their seventh consecutive league title.

Rodgers was thrilled with the 20-year-old, he has believes has ‘everything’ you need to become a success in football.

“He’s a brilliant player” Rodgers said, as quoted on the Hoops official Twitter account.

“He has everything, and I mean everything – pace, power, you see his strength, his ability with the ball at his feet, he has a natural brain for football, he comes into the space, he can play off the side.”

The player has now scored 11 goals for the season, and Hoops fans will demand that the Bhoys get a deal in place to make the player’s loan move from PSG a permanent deal at the end of the season.

Football Insider verdict

That is high praise indeed from the Hoops boss, who couldn’t fail to be impressed with the Frenchman’s performance, as he ripped the Gers apart with a display of pace and power. Edouard will just be annoyed that he didn’t complete his hat-trick, as he forced off with a slight injury. His two performances against Rangers in the last month though have shown a player who has plenty of talent and will only get better with age. Judging by Rodgers’ comments, he sees Edouard as player with huge potential and it wouldn’t be a surprise if the Hoops quickly got a deal in place to make the player’s loan deal a permanent one.
