Aaron Ramsey: Rangers stars will be ‘wowed’ as training footage emerges from Auchenhowie – McLeish
Alex McLeish has insisted the rest of the Rangers squad will be “absolutely wowed” by Aaron Ramsey in training.
The former Gers boss, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, claimed the 31-year-old’s surprise arrival will inspire “everybody” at Auchenhowie.
As captured by Rangers TV on Tuesday (1 February), Ramsey was thrown straight into training after completing his move to Ibrox on Monday evening.
McLeish admitted he was shocked at Ramsey’s arrival on loan from Juventus.
He insisted the Wales international’s presence will motivate the rest of the Rangers squad both on and off the pitch.
McLeish told Football Insider’s Russell Edge: “I must admit, when I heard the little rumours I thought: ‘No way.’ I thought he would go back to the Premier League in England.
“It’s no surprise that he’s going to one of the biggest clubs in Europe in Rangers but not the biggest league.
“The fact is they have got, for me, what is a world-class player. You’re not supposed to say these things lightly, I’ve been told before. It’s not often you have world-class players.
“I always say that if you’ve got a couple of really top players in the team, they can inspire everybody else.
“That’s what he did for Wales. Looking at the first footage, I’m sure the Rangers players will be absolutely wowed by him in training and when he finally gets on that pitch.”

Ramsey was unavailable to feature for Rangers in Wednesday’s 3-0 derby defeat to Celtic.
The Wales star has joined the Light Blues until the end of the season.
