Aberdeen’s Scottish Premiership status is in serious danger, frightening stat shows why relegation may be inevitable
Aberdeen could be at serious risk of being dragged into the Scottish Championship for the first time this season if their away form does not dramatically improve.
For weeks, the Dons have been seriously dreadful, with pressure beginning to heat up on Peter Leven, despite him being just the caretaker manager.
After their 0-0 draw with Dundee United, their top-six hopes are essentially over, and they are now closer to 11th than sixth place.
Much of their decline has been due to their away form, with the Dons struggling to find the net on the road.

Aberdeen are without an away goal since December
The Dons’ decline in 2026 has been woeful.
So far, Leven has guided Aberdeen to just one win in the Scottish Premiership, with the memories of their Scottish Cup victory last season beginning to feel distant.
However, for those fans who have travelled away to watch Aberdeen in recent weeks, it has been tough.
The Dons have now not scored away in the Scottish Premiership for six consecutive matches, with their last coming at Celtic Park on 21 December.
Unfortunately, this looks unlikely to change anytime soon, with their next away games in the top-flight being at Hearts and Rangers.
If this continues, Aberdeen could easily get relegated, as it’s impossible to be safe from the drop if you cannot score goals.
When does the post-split season begin?
For Aberdeen, their future in the Scottish Premiership will depend on how they perform in the post-split season.
This is not too far away, with the first set of fixtures set to begin on the weekend of 25 April.
For the bottom six, they will play out the final round of fixtures of the 2025-26 campaign on 17 May, one day after the top six see out their final game.
It remains to be seen if Aberdeen are able to come out on top during these ties, or if it will prove to be their demise.
However, Leven will likely back himself to pull the Dons out of their current mess if he continues to manage the side until the end of the campaign.
