‘Absolute baller’, ‘Get in’ – Leeds fans rave over return of star man v Derby
By Russell Edge
Leeds United fans have taken to social media to rave over the return of Stuart Dallas to the starting XI for their clash with Derby County on Tuesday.
The Whites revealed the line up via their official Twitter account, which confirmed that Thomas Christiansen had made three changes to the team which started in the 2-1 defeat to Sheffield United on Friday.
Liam Cooper, ruled out through injury, Kalvin Phillips, serving a one-match suspension for an accumulation of yellow cards, and Vurnon Anita all dropped out, with Pontus Jansson, Kemar Roofe and Dallas all taking their places.
It was the Northern Irish winger which fans seemed most excited about seeing back in action, having missed the Bristol City victory and then being left as unused substitute against the Blades, and the Whites faithful turned to Twitter to voice their excitement.
Here, Football Insider has rounded up a selection of the supporters’ best tweets:
Prior to missing out against Bristol City as a result of a personal bereavement, the 26-year-old had appeared in all but one of the Whites’ league games this season.
However he has primarily been used as an impact substitute by Christiansen, with his start against Derby just the second time he has been named among the starting XI.
He will be making his 99th appearance for the club against the Rams, having netted 10 goals and chipped in with 11 assists during his time at Elland Road.
In other Leeds United news, Derby boss Gary Rowett has said there is nothing to fear about Elland Road.
