‘Absolute shambles’ – Tottenham fans tear into starter who ‘belongs on You’ve Been Framed’

Tottenham supporters could not quite believe their eyes during a shock 2-1 defeat to Fulham in North London.

Marco Silva’s side claimed a surprise win over Sunderland in their previous Premier League clash, and with Spurs still raw from their defeat to PSG, it was the Cottagers who started the brightest.

Kenny Tete nearly joined Everton during the summer, and it was the right-back who opened the scoring, smashing home at the back-post to get the party started in the away end on Saturday, 29 November.

Bad went to worse for the Lilywhites, however, as Harry Wilson doubled their lead, benefitting from an awful error of judgment from Guglielmo Vicario, whose clearance was curled home by the Welshman.

The shot-stopper was miles outside of his area when blasting the ball up the line, and his decision not to just fire the ball out of play backfired immediately.

Guglielmo Vicario gives away a goal in dramatic fashion vs Fulham

Vicario was ripped to shreds against Man United earlier in the month, and it was the Italy international who was under the microscope once again, being punished for an embarrassing mistake.

Supporters could hardly believe what had just unfolded, with one fan labelling him an “absolute shambles”, while another joked that he “belongs on You’ve Been Framed!”.

Mohammed Kudus grabbed one back in the second half, but after such a dreadful opening six minutes, there were very few positives once the full-time whistle sounded.

Tottenham make history after a desperate start to Premier League clash

Spurs fans do not need to be told just how abysmal a start to the game it was, going two goals behind within six minutes, with several other early goals scored earlier in the day.

However, to summarise just how bad it was for Thomas Frank‘s side, as per Squawka, five minutes and 43 seconds is the quickest that the Lilywhites have conceded twice in a home Premier League game.

Frank is under huge pressure at Tottenham, and with yet another embarrassing statistic to add to the history books, it is clear why so many supporters are frustrated by the current situation.

Spurs remain 10th in the Premier League table after the defeat. With upcoming games against Newcastle United and Brentford, they will be expected to get some points on the board.
