‘Absolute steal’, ‘Bargain’ – Celtic fans thrilled as club close in on first summer transfer
Celtic fans on social media are delighted that the club are closing in on a permanent deal for French striker Odsonne Edouard.
The Daily Mail are reporting that the Hoops are set to pay PSG £5million for the 20-year-old, who scored 11 goals for the Hoops last season, whilst on loan from the French champions.
One fan has claimed that the deal is an ‘absolute steal’ at the price that has been quoted for the player, whilst another fan claimed that Leigh Griffiths could be kept on the sidelines should Edouard sign.
Here are some of the best reactions from Twitter to the news that Edouard could be the Hoops’ first signing of the summer:
Edouard had a great start to his Hoops career with a goal on his debut v Hamilton, but then had a quiet spell as he lost his place in the first-team.
He announced his return in spectacular fashion however, with the winning goal for the Hoops against Rangers in a 3-2 win at Ibrox which all but clinched the league title.
This was then followed up by two goals against the Ibrox side in the 5-0 win which clinched the league title, before his season was brought to a premature end because of a hamstring injury which kept him out of the Scottish Cup Final.
