Adam Idah: Celtic told it will cost ‘big money’ to complete permanent move for Norwich star
Celtic will have to fork out a big-money fee to land on-loan Norwich star Adam Idah on a permanent deal, sources have told Football Insider.
The 23-year-old Republic of Ireland international has impressed club chiefs since his arrival on loan earlier this month.
Idah has scored four goals in four Scottish Premiership appearances so far – including a brace to seal a comeback win for Celtic against Motherwell on Sunday (25 February).
His loan deal runs until the end of the 2023-24 campaign in May but fans and pundits alike are already suggesting the forward could join the Hoops permanently.
Football Insider revealed on Tuesday (27 February) that Idah would be open to signing at Celtic full-time in the off-season.
It is believed the potential to play Champions League football is a big draw for the 20-cap Republic of Ireland international.
But a well-placed source has told Football Insider that parent club Norwich will hold out for a big-money fee to part with Idah – who has been at Carrow Road since 2017.
He signed a fresh contract at the Championship club just last year (2023) which runs until June 2028.
The forward had scored seven goals in 34 games in the first half of this season but was not starting regularly for David Wagner’s side.

Idah is one of the best weapons available to Brendan Rodgers as his Celtic side look to fight back against Rangers and shift the balance of the Scottish Premiership title back into their favour.
The Hoops are two points behind their bitter rivals with two Old Firm games remaining in the 2023-24 campaign.
