Adam Wharton sends Crystal Palace message after significant new development
Adam Wharton has sent a message to Crystal Palace fans after taking another big step forward in his return to the side.
Wharton joined the Eagles back in the 2024 January transfer window, joining on permanent deal from Blackburn Rovers.
It proved a profitable move for Oliver Glasner‘s side, with Wharton’s form earning him a place in the England squad for Euro 2024.
That has also led to transfer interest in Wharton from Man City, although no deal has so materialised, while an injury that has kept him out for several months has halted his progress this season.
Now though Wharton is making his way back into the side at Selhurst Park, and it seems as though he is relishing the prospect of more action to come with his side.
Adam Wharton reacts after step forward for Crystal Palace
On Monday (10 February), Crystal Palace travelled to League Two side Doncaster Rovers in the fourth round of the FA Cup.
It proved a successful outing for Glasner’s side, with goals from Daniel Munoz and Justin Devenny securing a place in the fifth round for the Premier League side.
That will now see them face a clash with Millwall at Selhurst Park, which is an encounter they are sure to relish against a local rival.
Meanwhile, that latest win also proved to be a significant moment for Wharton, who made his first start for the club since October last year against Doncaster, having come off the bench as Crystal Palace won at Man United at the weekend.
The 21-year-old ended up playing 62 minutes of that victory, and taking to Instagram after the game, Wharton reacted by writing: “Good to get some more minutes, into the next round”.

Adam Wharton return a boost for Crystal Palace that will interest others
Football Insider Verdict
For Crystal Palace it will of course provide a major lift to have Wharton back fit and playing regularly again.
The midfielder quickly settled into life in the Premier League last season, with his England call-ups proving his undoubted talent.
As a result getting him back to the form of last season would certainly help Glasner’s side as they look to climb back up the table after a tough start to the season.
However, Crystal Palace will no doubt be aware that given interest others previously had in him, clubs elsewhere such as Man City will also be taking an interest in whether he can rediscover his very best form after so long out, which would make him a viable transfer target once again.
