Advanced talks: Tottenham have ‘big problem’ after source’s next manager reveal – Agbonlahor
Gabby Agbonlahor has claimed Tottenham will “struggle” to attract a “top manager”.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Aston Villa striker said any manager going into Spurs is “setting up for failure”.
On 18 May, sources told this site that the Lilywhites have opened talks over appointing Feyennord’s Arne Slot as their new manager.
The club are confident that the 44-year-old is the right choice and are set to make an appointment next week.
Talks between Slot and Tottenham are progressing well and both parties are willing to complete a deal.
Spurs have previously been linked with Julian Nagelsmann as their next full time boss but the former Bayern Munich boss couldn’t reach an agreement with the London club.
Agbonlahor insisted the club are going to struggle to entice any potential manager.
“It is very odd to go into that club at the moment it seems as though you would be setting yourself up for failure.
“I think the big problem at Spurs for potential managers is that they do not know the future of Harry Kane, they do not know the amount of money they have got to spend in the summer.

“They can’t choose their own sporting director because that is what Nagelsmann wanted and maybe Daniel Levy said no.
“As much as managers want to manage, they want to right job and that is why Spurs will struggle to get a top manager.“
