After Rodrigo Bentancur, Tottenham must hand new deal to exit-linked ‘magician’
Thomas Frank’s squad are in a very good place in terms of contracts before Tottenham head into the next summer transfer window.
Yves Bissouma is out of contract at the end of the current season, but he is the only concern after Rodrigo Bentancur put pen to paper on a brand new deal in North London on Friday, 3 October.
While the likes of Randal Kolo Muani and Joao Palhinha could return to their parent clubs next summer, the rest of the team have deals in place for at least the next two or three years.
With that being said, Spurs could still hand out some more deals to throw other clubs off from claiming their signatures once the transfer window reopens, either in January or June.

Dejan Kulusevski is not out of contract until 2028
One player whom Frank might be tempted to push for a new contract is Dejan Kulusevski, a playmaker who was labelled a “magician” by Chelsea legend Joe Cole last year [TNT Sports].
He arrived on a five-year deal back in 2023, and since then, the Sweden international has become a key figure for the Lilywhites, notching 18 assists and 14 assists in 89 appearances.
That is without mentioning his previous loan spell with the club, and the player deserves to be recognised for all the hard work he has put in, especially off the pitch, as he attempts to return from injury.
Kulusevski has been sidelined since May, bringing an end to his sensational 2024-25 campaign, despite how poor Spurs were under Ange Postecoglou‘s reign.
Tottenham can chase away clubs interested in Kulusevski
While the playmaker is under contract until the summer of 2028, that does not mean that Spurs cannot lose him to another European giant once the transfer window rolls around.
That is exactly why the club need to offer him a new contract, with updated wages, clauses, and bonuses to ensure that he doesn’t have one eye on the exit door once he returns to full fitness.
Back in April, Mick Brown told Football Insider that Kulusevski was tempted to leave Tottenham, but everything has gone quiet since he picked up the season-ending injury last term.
There would likely be a long queue of suitors for the 25-year-old’s signature if he were to choose an exit, but with new terms in North London, any possibility of a heartbreaking exit would be significantly reduced.
