Agbonlahor ‘100% sure’ about Aston Villa sealing £3m Moussa Dembele deal as talks reported
Gabby Agbonlahor has insisted Aston Villa will “100%” sign a striker this month following the departure of Danny Ings to West Ham.
The former Villa striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, suggested reported target Moussa Dembele, 26, is “well-suited” to Unai Emery’s brand of football.
According to the Daily Mail (20 January), Aston Villa have approached Lyon about the availability of Dembele – with a fee as low as £3million possible as he enters the final six months of his contract.

The Midlands giants have already finalised the arrival of 19-year-old hitman Jhon Duran in January – with the highly-rated Colombian joining for a reported fee of £18million.
Meanwhile, West Ham announced his arrival of Ings on Friday (20 January) – with Sky Sports updating later that day to claim the Irons have paid £15million for his services.
The England international was Aston Villa’s top scorer for the 2022-23 campaign at the time of his departure.
Emery’s side sit 11th in the Premier League and have been knocked out of both domestic cups.
Agbonlahor told Football Insider’s Ewan Kingsbury: “There are still 19 games left between now and the end of the season.
“Ollie Watkins scored against Southampton, but if he gets injured – you’re left with a 19-year-old.
“It’s not enough.
“Unai Emery will know that, and Aston Villa will sign a striker. I’m 100% sure.

“If it’s a loan, it’s a loan. But they really need one.
“Dembele looks well-suited to what we need going forward.”
