Agbonlahor: Aston Villa handed big Buendia boost as picture emerges on Instagram
Emiliano Martinez will be telling his Argentina teammate Emiliano Buendia all about Aston Villa in a bid to convince him to move to the club, according to Gabby Agbonlahor.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, Villa’s record Premier League goalscorer delivered his verdict after a picture emerged of the pair socialising away from the training pitch.
Martinez shared a photo with his 641,000 Instagram followers of himself playing pool with the Norwich City attacker.
Football Insider understands Villa are confident they can beat Arsenal to the signing of Buendia after the latest round of talks.
This site revealed on 25th May that the Midlands outfit had opened preliminary talks over a deal for the right-sided attacker.
Villa are in the market for two wide forwards this summer who can fit seamlessly into Dean Smith’s 4-2-3-1 system.

Asked whether Martinez and Buendia will be speaking about the prospect of linking up together at Villa Park, Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley: “100 per cent.
“He’ll probably be saying ‘Come to Villa, it’s a great project, we’ll be pushing on from finishing 11th.’
“He’s definitely a good player. He looks like the sort of player, for me, who would be ahead of Ross Barkley. He looks like an exciting player and he’ll be hungry to play in the Premier League.
“It looks like it would be a great signing so Aston Villa will definitely try and get that over the line.”
Buendia was called up to the Argentinian national team for the first time last month after his impressive season in the Championship.
The 24-year-old scored 15 goals and 17 assists in 39 league games as Norwich secured the title and an instant return to the Premier League.
