Agbonlahor: Aston Villa star should be ‘sacrificed’ for Cameron Archer after major reveal
Cameron Archer needs to be given an opportunity if Aston Villa continue to fail in front of goal, according to Gabby Agbonlahor.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, Aston Villa’s record Premier League goalscorer claimed a defensive player should be “sacrificed” to accommodate Archer.
The 20-year-old has only played 10 minutes of Premier League football this season despite signing a new five-year contract in the summer.

Steven Gerrard insisted he had a major role to play after impressing on loan at Preston North End last season.
As quoted by Birmingham Live on Sunday (9 October), Gerrard revealed he is now fully fit and will get minutes in the coming weeks.
“When I was watching the Leeds game, I was hoping that Archer would come on,” Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.
“Could we have sacrificed a defender and put another striker on, we know how good he is in front of goal.
“I feel like it was definitely a game where everyone wanted to see Archer on the pitch.
“I don’t feel like it was a game where Buendia had to come on. He could have had Archer, Ings and Watkins as your attacking players on to try and get the win.
“Steven Gerrard is the manager, he sees them in training, he makes his choices and he didn’t think bringing Archer on was the answer.

“You have to trust the manager but I do feel as long as we keep failing to score then Archer does deserve a chance.
“You understand it but going forward, you want to see him given more time.”
