Agbonlahor: Aston Villa told to complete Ismaila Sarr signing after £27m fee agreed
Aston Villa are “crying out” for a player like Ismaila Sarr, according to Gabby Agbonlahor.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, Aston Villa’s record Premier League goalscorer claimed the current team “lack pace” and a player who can open up defenders.
The Midlands giants extended their winless run to four Premier League games on Monday night (10 October) with a 1-1 draw away to strugglers Nottingham Forest.

Emiliano Buendia and Philippe Coutinho, two attacking midfielders, started out wide at the City Ground with Leon Bailey out injured.
Football Insider revealed during the summer transfer window (22 August) that the club had agreed a £27million fee with Watford for Sarr, who was due to travel for a medical.
However, Steven Gerrard had reservations about the deal that led to its collapse and Aston Villa ended up not bolstering their attacking ranks in the summer.
“We lack pace,” Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.
“There was talk of Sarr coming in and he didn’t come. We are crying out for someone like him who can open up defences with speed.
“It’s just a shame at the moment to see how my team play.
“You look at other teams, Newcastle are flying, this should be Aston Villa but it’s not.”

Aston Villa are next in action on Sunday (16 October) when they host Chelsea who have won all four games under new manager Graham Potter.
A win at Villa Park for Gerrard’s side could lift them into the top half of the Premier League table.
In other news, there has been a major update on Steven Gerrard’s future at Aston Villa as sack talks are held.
