Agbonlahor can’t believe Cancelo latest at Man City after source’s reveal
Joao Cancelo’s future at Man City is rightfully in doubt after he fell out of favour with Pep Guardiola.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider. Agbonlahor has claimed that Guardiola’s credentials at Man City gives him the license to make a decision.
Football Insider exclusively revealed on Friday (4 August) that Man City want to sell Cancelo in the final weeks of the summer window.
It is unlikely the 29-year-old will win manager Guardiola back around despite his involvement in the treble-winners’ pre-season preparations.
A well-placed source has told Football Insider it is a “surprise” to see Cancelo still at the club ahead of the opening Premier League weekend.
“I feel like you could call Guardiola the best ever manager to manage in the game,” he told Football Insider.
“It’s an argument with sir Alex and Mourinho, but when you’re at that level of manager, a player does something wrong, you’re finished, you know, Mourinho is like it as well, isn’t it?
“Mourinho don’t mess around Fergie never messed around – you cross these managers, they’d rather play a striker right back than player if they had to.

“And that’s what’s happened with Cancelo because he was outstanding under Pep.
“We seen him at left back and right back scoring screamers, you know, playing like a winger and maybe one wrong word and you finished and that, that, that relationship won’t repair managers are very stubborn, you know, you cross them and you’re done.”
