Agbonlahor can’t believe Rangers source’s Ryan Kent source reveal

Gabby Agbonlahor has claimed Ryan Kent and Alfredo Morelos could end up renewing at Rangers as he believes there will be a lack of interest in their services.

The former Aston Villa striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, suggested Kent, 26, is not Premier League quality.

Sources told this site on 1 October that Kent has rejected a new “big-money” contract offer as he sets his sights on a move to the Premier League.

The former Liverpool star is currently out of contract at the end of the season.

He has made 24 appearances this season, notching one goal and seven assists for the Ibrox club.

Alfredo Morelos is also out of contract in 2023 – with sources telling Football Insider on 10 December that he has demanded £45,000-per-week in order to renew with the Glasgow giants.

Agbonlahor told Football Insider’s Connor Whitley: “Kent is a decent enough player, but I don’t think he’s Premier League quality.

“He’s hot and cold, but he’s not been hot for a while now.

“I think the agents for both Morelos and Kent might be left scratching their heads. They might end up just taking what Rangers are offering.

“Connor Goldson was looking around last summer and couldn’t find anything, he ended up settling for Rangers – I think these two could be the same.”

Rangers sit second in the Scottish Premiership, some nine points behind leaders Celtic.

New boss Michael Beale has won his first two games in charge of the Ibrox club after coming from behind.
