Agbonlahor can’t believe Richarlison latest after what he saw at Tottenham – ‘something’s missing’

Gabby Agbonlahor can’t believe Richarlison hasn’t been given a run in the Tottenham side after the poor form of Heung-min Son.

The former Aston Villa striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, claimed the 30-year-old South Korea international looks “uninterested” and “low on confidence”.

Son has managed just six goals and three assists across 26 appearances in all competitions this season.

Richarlison, 25, was signed for a reported £60million last summer (2022) but has started just five Premier League games since making the move from Everton.

He is yet to score a league goal in Tottenham colours – but has contributed two strikes in the Champions League.

Spurs sit fifth in the top flight – three points of fourth-place Man United having played a game more.

Antonio Conte’s side have bolstered their attacking ranks this month with the loan signing of Arnaut Danjuma.

Agbonlahor told Football Insider’s Ewan Kingsbury: “I was watching Son against Fulham and there’s something missing with him.

“When we’ve watched him in the last seven years, he’s always looked sharp. He’s taken players on, he’s making the right runs.

“He doesn’t look interested, he isn’t trying to beat a man – he looks low on confidence.

“If I’m Conte I would drop him and give Richarlison a chance.

“You don’t sign someone for £60million if you’re not going to play him when others aren’t performing.

“It’s a big decision, but I’d put Son on the bench.”
