Agbonlahor can’t believe Tottenham could sign Emiliano Martinez after source’s £40m+ reveal
Gabby Agbonlahor has insisted there is “no way” Tottenham can meet the asking price for Aston Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez this summer.
The former Villa striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, claimed his old side will not be pressured into selling the 30-year-old as they “don’t need the money”.
Sources told this site last month (24 February) that Tottenham have a strong interest in Aston Villa star Martinez amid doubts over his future at the Midlands giants.

Football Insider revealed on 20 February that a bid of £40million+ could be enough to prise the World Cup winner away from Villa Park – as he is under contract until June 2027.
Lloris, who is currently out injured with a knee problem, is expected to be replaced at Tottenham this summer following a number of sub-par performances in the 2022-23 campaign.
The club captain is under contract until June 2024.
Agbonlahor told Football Insider’s Ewan Kingsbury: “He’d be a good signing, but I don’t see it happening.
“I can’t see the current Tottenham owners paying the money Aston Villa will want.
“Martinez is on a long-term contract at a club who don’t need to sell – they don’t need the money.

“It’s got to be one hell of an offer to get him to move anywhere this summer. As much as Spurs will want him, there’s no way they’ll pay that type of money.
“I think they’ll have to look elsewhere if they’re going to replace Lloris.”
