Agbonlahor: Casemiro may have angrily confronted Erik ten Hag after Man United reveal

Gabby Agbonlahor has claimed Erik ten Hag does not rate Casemiro but he could start for Man United in their next Premier League game.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England attacker suggested that Casemrio may have angrily confronted Ten Hag after the Manchester derby.

Scott McTominay started in midfield at the Etihad before being replaced by Casemiro just before the hour mark in the 6-3 defeat to Man City.

Man United

The 30-year-old then started the 3-2 win over Omonia Nicosia in the Europa League on Thursday night (6 October).

But after his £70million move from Real Madrid in the summer, Casemiro is yet to start in the Premier League despite the likes of Antony and Tyrell Malacia being thrown straight into the side.

As quoted by the Sun earlier this week (5 October), Ten Hag insisted it was nothing to do with the Brazil international and all to do with McTominay’s form.

“I think maybe he’s not having him,” Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.

“There is no reason that someone who starts every game for Real Madrid, you sign him for such a big fee and you don’t start him.

“You’re playing Scott McTominay who cannot pass to his own players, it’s baffling.

“If I’m Casemiro, I’m going to the manager’s office and saying ‘Is this some sort of joke? How dare you play him in front of me?’

“After that performance from Scott McTominay, I’m sure you’ll see Casemiro start against Everton.”

Man United

Man United go into the game at Goodison Park sixth in the Premier League, two points off the Champions League places.

Before the defeat to Man City, Ten Hag’s side had won their last four top-flight games.

In other news, Newcastle United have set their sights on signing a Man United star who is available for free next year.
