Agbonlahor has dig at Leeds the city and the club after Gallagher news
Gabby Agbonlahor has admitted he is not surprised Conor Gallagher snubbed a move to Leeds United to sign for Crystal Palace.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England forward insisted staying in London will have been a major factor in Gallagher’s decision.
Football Insider learned on 30 July Palace had fended off interest from Leeds to complete the loan signing of the 21-year-old.
The Eagles confirmed the capture of the midfielder on a season-long loan deal later that day.
Asked whether he was surprised Gallagher had chosen to join Palace over Leeds, Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley: “No.
“If you get the chance to live in London or Leeds, you’re going to choose London, aren’t you!

“I think he’s probably looking at it and thinking ‘At Crystal Palace, I’m going to play every week, they’ve not got many players. Maybe at Leeds he’s not going to start every week’. He might look at it like that.
“As silly as it sounds, location is location. He’s a Chelsea lad, he’s got a chance to stay at home and go to Crystal Palace. Rather than jump on the M6 all the way to Leeds.
“I’ve been there, you want to stay at home and he’s got more chance of playing at Crystal Palace. For me, it’s a no-brainer and I’m sure he’s happy to stay in London and not move to Leeds.”
Gallagher scored twice and provided two assists in 30 Premier League games while on loan at West Brom last term.
The England Under-21 international is yet to make his senior Chelsea debut.
