Agbonlahor drops Man City-Phillips transfer reveal -‘It is almost a certainty’

Man City star Kalvin Phillips has been advised to choose his next destination carefully amid the upcoming Euro 2024.

Speaking Exclusively to Football Insider, former Aston Villa striker Gabriel Agbonlahor has claimed that Phillips should avoid a move to Bayern Munich due to a lack of game time, which has been a similar theme at Man City.

According to BildCity midfielder Phillips has emerged as an unexpected target for Bayern Munich despite the midfielder joning City from Leeds for £42million just last summer.

Despite City’s successful treble-winning season, Phillips had only started two Premier League games, both of which occurred after the title had been secured.

After a lack of game time, the England midfielder has been tipped to leave City in order to get more minutes ahead of Euro 2024.

With a potential switch to Bayern Munich, Agbonlahor believes it is a move that he should look to avoid.

“He wouldn’t be guaranteed to start at Bayern,” He told Football Insider.

“Joshua Kimmich, Leon Goretska play in the same position and they have really got a lot of good players.

“He has to choose his next move wisely because the Euro’s is just a month away, and if you’re not playing Gareth Southgate can’t keep calling you up to the England squad and it is similar for Harry Maguire.

“Phillips has to choose the right move otherwise it is almost a certainty that he will lose that England spot.”
