Agbonlahor: Everton may be about to accept relegation after Jordan Pickford reveal
Everton would be accepting relegation if they sell Jordan Pickford to Tottenham, according to Gabby Agbonlahor.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England attacker insisted Pickford would be a “great” long-term replacement for Hugo Lloris.
Teamtalk reported earlier this month (8 November) that the 2022-23 campaign will be Lloris’ last as Spurs’ number one.

The 35-year-old is out of contract in the summer of 2024 after signing a new deal at the beginning of the year.
It is claimed that Pickford is one of three goalkeepers Tottenham have targeted to replace him along with Leeds United’s Illan Meslier and Robert Sanchez of Brighton & Hove Albion.
Spurs will reportedly look to bring a new stopper in at the end of the season rather than in the January transfer window.
“I think Pickford would be a good option long-term for Spurs,” Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.
“I think it would be a great move for Spurs, another English player in the squad.
“But if Everton are going to sell Jordan Pickford they might as well say ‘We don’t mind getting relegated’.
“You cannot keep losing your best players, it’s not acceptable.
“I don’t see that one happening but if it did it would say a lot about Everton and what their future plans are.”

Pickford is under contract at Everton until the summer of 2024.
The 28-year-old moved to Goodison Park from Sunderland in the summer of 2017 and has kept 57 clean sheets in 213 appearances across all competitions for the Toffees.
In other news, Everton are set for an FA investigation after an Alexander Iwobi controversy.
