Agbonlahor ‘expects’ Graham Potter sack after what he’s seen at Chelsea – ‘Boehly won’t mess about’
Gabby Agbonlahor has claimed he is “expecting” Graham Potter to be sacked at Chelsea despite him needing time to transform their fortunes.
The former Aston Villa striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, insisted owner Todd Boehly “won’t mess about” as his mega-money overhaul continues.
Chelsea have won just one of their last nine games across all competitions under Potter – who has less than a 50% win rate since taking charge at Stamford Bridge in September.
The 2020 Champions League winners sit 10th in the Premier League after 17 games with just 25 points.
The Blues spent almost £250million during the summer window and have already added striker David Datro Fofana and centre-back Benoit Badiashile to their squad this month.
Chelsea face a two-legged clash with Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League next month after topping Group E earlier this season.
Agbonlahor told Football Insider’s Ewan Kingsbury: “I do expect that this owner will sack Potter if he doesn’t improve things.
“But I’m hoping he doesn’t. He needs time. A lot of players in this squad are not his.
“James has had his injury problems, Aubameyang up front who has lost his legs, and a midfield which needs freshening up.
“Chelsea need a rebuilding season. Liverpool have had one, Arsenal have had one, Man United have had one.

“They could finish sixth or seventh, but it’s about sorting this squad out.
“I’m hoping he gets the time he needs, but we’ve already seen that Boehly won’t mess about.”
