Agbonlahor: Frank Lampard should be ‘very worried’ after Everton source’s reveal

Frank Lampard should be “very worried” about Everton getting relegated if he is not given any money to spend in January, according to Gabby Agbonlahor.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England attacker insisted Everton are looking “bad” going forward and lack a regular goalscorer.

Sources told Football Insider earlier this month (19 November) the Blues are not planning to spend big in January despite their poor recent form.

Farhad Moshiri is not willing to underwrite another expensive window as it is felt Lampard was well-backed in the summer.

The 44-year-old’s job was under pressure after a run of just one win in seven Premier League games but the board decided to back him.

“I’d be very concerned if Everton don’t spend and improve that squad of players,” Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.

“It could easily turn into a relegation battle. On the ball, they haven’t got enough and they haven’t got enough goalscorers. Calvert-Lewin has had his injury problems and Neal Maupay hasn’t really scored goals his whole career and doesn’t look like he will at Everton.

“They were so bad, attacking-wise, against Bournemouth. They could have been there for three hours and they wouldn’t have scored.

“If I’m Frank Lampard, I’m very worried about this season if I’m not going to be given money to spend.”

Everton

Everton are now 17th in the Premier League table, just one point above the relegation zone.

The Toffees resume their top flight campaign on Boxing Day when they host bottom club Wolves at Goodison Park.

In other news, Everton are set for an FA investigation after an Alexander Iwobi controversy.
