Agbonlahor is convinced about Graham Potter agreeing Leicester City deal – ‘huge’
Gabby Agbonlahor has claimed Leicester manager target Graham Potter will not drop down to the Championship if the Foxes are relegated.
The former Aston Villa striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, claimed the 48-year-old will be in no rush to return to management after his reported £13million Chelsea payoff.
Football Insider revealed last week (21 May) that Leicester are planning to approach Potter about being their next permanent manager.
It is also believed that Dean Smith has told friends he doesn’t expect to be at the King Power Stadium next season – even if Premier League survival is secured.
Leicester must beat West Ham and hope Everton fail to beat Bournemouth on the final day (28 May) to avoid the drop.
Potter has been out of work since his Chelsea sacking in April – and is expected to field offers from leading English and overseas clubs this summer.
Agbonlahor told Football Insider’s Ewan Kingsbury: “No, I don’t think so.
“He would have got a huge payoff from Chelsea, and I don’t think he’ll be in a rush to come back to management.
“If he does, he’s not going to drop down the leagues.
“He will see his time at Chelsea as a problem with the owners bringing in too many players.

“He did a great job at Brighton – and I feel he will demand a Premier League club as his next job.
“I just can’t see it happening for Leicester.”
