Agbonlahor issues ‘£200m’ Jude Bellingham claim after Liverpool news

Jude Bellingham could be worth £200million later in his career so Liverpool may be prepared to pay £100million for him next summer, according to Gabby Agbonlahor.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, Aston Villa’s record Premier League goalscorer claimed it will all depend on Bellingham’s performances in 2022-23 including his displays for England in the World Cup.

German outlet Sport Bild reported last week (29 June) that Borussia Dortmund have put a price tag of around £103million on the 19-year-old.

Football Insider reported earlier this year (22 April) that Dortmund have told the Reds that the teenager is not for sale this summer but he remains a target.

Asked for his verdict on a £100million-plus move for Bellingham, Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley: “The Mo Salah contract, this money takes away from the budget with the wages, £62million,”

“The [Darwin] Nunez signing was expensive, that was £70million-plus.

“I don’t think Liverpool would pay £100million for Bellingham. It’s a lot of money, he’s still got a lot to prove.

“Maybe they will see what he’s like this season, what he’s like in the World Cup and take it from there.

“If he goes to the next step and improve then maybe they will pay it. He’ll be 20 and he’s got a big future with a lot of years left in the game. He could be a player who goes on to become a £150million, £200million player in the future.

“They will look at it and will probably want to see what he’s like next season in different competitions.”

In other news, Southampton are readying a bid for a Liverpool star and £20million will seal the deal.
