Agbonlahor issues bold Man United prediction amid big-money Joao Felix update

Gabby Agbonlahor has claimed Man United can qualify for the Champions League this season even without securing a striker signing in January.

The former Aston Villa striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, claimed Erik ten Hag can rely on resurgent duo Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial to provide enough firepower for a top-four finish.

Sources told this site on Wednesday (28 December) that Man United are working on a temporary forward signing and are willing to pay a £5million loan fee to get a deal over the line in January

According to talkSPORT (29 December), the Red Devils have “reservations” about paying an £8million loan fee for Atletico Madrid’s Felix.

The Portugal star reportedly earns a wage of just over £240,000-a-week at the Wanda Metropolitano.

Erik ten Hag has turned to Rashford and Martial in order to replace the departed Cristiano Ronaldo – and both scored as Man United defeated Nottingham Forest 3-0 on Tuesday (27 December).

The Old Trafford club sit fifth in the Premier League after 15 games.

Agbonlahor told Football Insider’s Ewan Kingsbury: “I think they can get into the top four even without signing a striker.

“Rashford can come into the centre, they’ve got Martial – they are very good options.

“I don’t think Man United should be rushing into anything, paying big money, and signing the wrong player. Even Arsenal haven’t done it, and they’re top of the league.

“They’ve got to wait for the right player to become available.

“Chelsea have got Nkunku, he’s coming in the summer.

“I think Man United have got enough goals and enough talent to finish in the top four regardless.”
