Agbonlahor issues next-level Man City-Liverpool claim after confirmed transfer news
Man City are now “a level above” Liverpool who will find it difficult to seriously challenge for the top trophies in 2022-23, according to Gabby Agbonlahor.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England attacker claimed to lose Sadio Mane and not sign a new midfielder makes it difficult for Liverpool.
Jurgen Klopp told Sky Sports (11 July) earlier this week that he does not expect any more new faces to enter his squad this summer.

They have already added Darwin Nunez in a club-record deal from Benfica while Calvin Ramsay has come in as cover and competition for Trent Alexander-Arnold.
Man City have added Erling Haaland, Julian Alvarez and Kalvin Phillips while Stefan Ortega will provide back up to Ederson.
“They [Liverpool] can compete,” Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.
“For me, it’s going to be very hard for them to win the Premier League and the Champions League.
“Man City are a level above now. To bring Alvarez, to bring in Haaland and Kalvin Phillips. They’ve strengthened.
“Liverpool have brought in Nunez who still has a lot to learn. You don’t know which way it’s going to go with him. He could be unbelievable or it could take him a season.
“To lose Mane, to not bring in another midfielder. It’s going to be harder for them to keep up with Man City.”

Liverpool finished just one point behind Man City at the top of the Premier League in 2021-22.
They won the FA Cup and EFL Cup but were defeated by Real Madrid in the Champions League final in Paris.
In other news, Kieran Maguire has revealed Liverpool’s FFP status is now in doubt after a “ludicrous” Uefa rule change.
