Agbonlahor issues verdict on Ross Barkley signing for Rangers
Rangers have not yet signed Ross Barkley as his head might not be in the right place to consistently perform at Ibrox.
That’s according to former Aston Villa hitman Gabby Agbonlahor, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the Gers’ transfer business.
On Monday (29 August), Chelsea announced Barkley had left the club by mutual consent, and he is now available as a free agent.

On Tuesday (30 August) Football Scotland reported Barkley’s agent “floated” the player’s name to Rangers’ recruitment team in a recent meeting.
On 13 August, sources told this site that Ange Postecoglou’s Celtic side had submitted a bid to Chelsea for the 28-year-old.
Agbonlahor claims the Gers already have plenty of options that can fill Barkley’s position including Tom Lawrence.
“Rangers have options in there, Tom Lawrence for one,” Agbonlahor told Football Insider‘s Connor Whitley.
“You don’t know if Rangers are going to get the best Ross Barkley, he struggled during the second half of that season he had at Villa.
“He’s gone back to Chelsea and he’s not really playing, where’s his head at? Is he going to want to come to Rangers and give 100%?
“If they had got him in and he was on it, at 27, 28, he might have had a lot to offer.”

Barkley made 14 appearances for Chelsea last season and scored once in six Premier League outings.
He spent the 2020-21 season on loan at Aston Villa scoring three goals in 23 Premier League appearances.
